Chelsea Ready To Offer Fernando Torres £85m

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to pay an insane £85 MILLION for Liverpool, and Spanish star Fernando Torres.
The Daily Star is reporting: Chelsea’s billionaire owner was an admiring onlooker during the Euro2008 final, as the Torres scored the lone goal in Spain’s European Championship victory over Germany.
The original offer that was reported to be £50m was not even considered by Liverpool, and Torres has admitted he has no wish to quit Merseyside. After the Spanish celebration SkyNews asked Torres about next season with Liverpool and he stated that he believed they would win the Champions League.
In a interview with The Daily Mail Fernando went even further to show his support for Liverpool.
‘I want to thank all the staff and players at Liverpool for their support during these championships because it makes a real difference when you know you have the backing of the people at your club,’ he said. ‘Because of that, they share in our success.
‘I had a wonderful first season for Liverpool and the goals I scored gave me the confidence and belief I needed for the Euros. Again, I would like to thank Rafa and his staff because I have improved as a player due to their help.
‘It isn’t just the people at the club who have helped me, though. It is also the supporters and people of the city. From the moment I first came to Liverpool I have been made to feel so welcome. That is why I am able to enjoy my football so much.
‘It is incredible really because the Liverpool fans have given me so much support. I know they have even been supporting Spain in this tournament and I can’t thank them enough for that. It is something I will never forget.’
‘I hope Sunday’s win proves to be the first of many because I want to win many more major titles with Liverpool and Spain,’ said Torres. ‘I am really looking forward to competing for trophies with the Reds because I know that means so much to the club and fans.’

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
Some players (like Torres) play for the love of football and the passion of the fans.
All he would get at Chelski is lots of money and as much atmosphere as a conference team.
Dream on Chavs, Torres is a RED.
Why would ANY striker want to go to chelsea after the way they get treated there?
Just ask Kezman, Crespo, Shevchenko, Drogba, Mutu and any other you can think of.

That’s right, Torres plays for free at Antfield. And no, there’s no way he quadrupled his wages by moving from Atlético. Couldn’t happen.

Of course Torres got a wage rise moving to Liverpool but did he only join Liverpool for money? NO, he WANTED to join Liverpool because (Torres’ own words) “it was the right move for him”.
He could have joined any club in Europe and there were enough keen to get him and pay him even more but he made it very clear that there was only one place he wanted to go.
In his own words again “The fans have helped me, they mean the world to me”.
Could he say something like that after 1 season in Chav central?
Plastic flags, silence and little support. NO!

Nellboy you are absolutely correct. Torres did take a pay cut when he moved to Liverpool (approximately 800K a year). Apparently he is in line for a pay rise of 800K this year to bring him back up to what he was earning at Athletico. Well deserved and nice to know some of these stars are in it for the right reasons and not just financial benefits.

Speaking as a Chelsea fan I wouldn’t want him, the reasons for that are because of the views above. If we are to be seen as a serious football club we need to develop our own talent or buy good prospects, it would be soul destroying to see Scott Sinclair getting sold on so he can get a game. Kenyon keeps telling the press exactly that idea but still we let Bostock, Ramsey and Dos Santos slip through our fingers.

I personally don’t think chelsea needs torres, and DEFINETLY if the Kaka deal goes through, he will replace drogba (thank god he’s leaving) and you have ballack, there are you 2 strikers for your 44 2, you don’t need another, and if torres leaves liverpool there even more in the hole. I’m chelsea till I die, but I feel they are spending tooo much on players now, train the ones you’ve got!
