Brazilian legend Pele Robbed At Gunpoint

Brazilian thieves must be pretty ruthless if they are robbing a national hero.
Sports Illustrated is now reporting - local news in Brazil say soccer legend Pele was held at gunpoint by a band of youths and robbed of a gold necklace, his cell phone and a watch.
“When they approached his car, Pele rolled down the window and told them who he was - but they robbed him anyway, according to Veja. The Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper reported the robbers gave back some items after learning their target’s identity.” - The Associated Press
The incident — which took place on June 13 but only made public now — occurred near the city of Santos in southern Sao Paulo state. Pele’s car was stopped near a slum by at least 10 young men armed with pistols and knives, the respected news magazine Veja reported on its Web site.
The report said Pele was riding on the passenger side of the car and did not report the incident to police.
