Arsenal Youngster Needs Loan Spell To Excel

Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny feels he needs a lengthy spell out on loan in order to put himself in a strong position to break into club’s first team.
The 18-year-old Pole has already signed professional terms with the Gunners but remains behind Manuel Almuni, Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone in the pecking order for the number one jersey.
Szczesny has been promoted to the reserve team after making 23 appearances for the Under-18’s last year.
But he believes that in order to make that all-important step up in to Arsene Wenger’s side he will have to get some regular first-team football under his belt.
“I would expect that for at least six months I will end up being loaned out,” he told Gazeta Wyborcza. “It’s necessary for me because it is rare that a keeper goes straight into the first team from the reserves.
“I need to go out and feel under pressure to win.”
