Arsenal starlet signs for Real Sociedad

After making his second senior appearance in Tuesday’s eventful 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal starlet Fran Merida could now be set for a return to his homeland with Chris Coleman’s Real Sociedad.

That is the claim of Real presidential candidate Inaki Badiola, who has announced that an agreement has already been found with Arsene Wenger for a loan deal for the highly-rated Merida.

The midfielder followed in Cesc Fabregas’ footsteps when swapping Barcelona for North London at the age of 16 last summer, but he has been unable to match the meteoric rise of his Catalan companion and a spell in Spain could help to encourage his development.

As well as Merida, if he wins the club election on January 3 Badiola also claims he has clinched a deal to bring former Liverpool assistant boss Pako Ayestaran to San Sebastian to take a central role at the club currently managed by former Fulham boss Coleman.

Rafa Benitez’s former right hand man has been courted by a number of clubs, including Chelsea according to Badiola.

“If on January 3 I win the elections, Pako Ayestaran is going to join on June 30, the day in which he is freed by Liverpool,” Badiola told Marca.

“He had offers from Chelsea and Valencia among others, but has been united to my project.

“Already we have agreed four signings for the team that are from the top 10 in the Primera league and The Premier League.

“The one from The Premier League would arrive from Arsenal and promising Spaniard Merida is the chosen one. His arrival was closed in London after a breakfast with Arsene Wenger.”

Furthermore, Badiola claims he will sign either Oleguer of Marc Crosas from Primera Liga giants Barcelona.
