Arsenal May Turn To Dutch Midfielder

Media reports suggest that Arsene Wenger is set to move for Feyenoord’s Jonathan De Guzman to solve Arsenal’s lack of depth in midfield.

The Sun claim that the Gunners chief will make a £12million swoop for the 20-year-old, who is seen as a Dutch version of Owen Hargreaves.

Wenger has thought to have been tracking the Holland Under-21 international for some time, and with other possible targets like Gareth Barry becoming unavailable De Guzman could be the name to complete Arsenal’s squad for the season.

He recently claimed: “My dream clubs are Arsenal and Barcelona. If clubs of that stature are interested in you then you cannot say no.

“I’m certainly open to interest from Arsenal and from what I hear Feyenoord are happy to hear from them as well.”

He fits Arsen’s profile, young talented player he can develop and probably at some point get a nice return on his investment. For what we need right now (experience) , He doesn’t fit the bill.
