Alex Ferguson Says Arsenal Losing Players Because Of Stadium
Posted on 23. Jul, 2008 by Milox in Premiership
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Arsenal’s move to the Emirates Stadium has affected the club’s ability to keep their top players.
The Gunners have seen stars like Thiery Henry, Matheiu Flamini, Alexander Hleb and Gilberto all leave the club since their move to the new stadium.
And Red Devils chief Fergusuon believes the debt racked up to build the new arena could be the reason.
“I think I read that the debt of the stadium is causing them a problem,” Ferguson said.
However, Ferguson insisted that the north Londoners still cannot be written out of the Premier League title race this season.
“I wouldn’t write off Liverpool or Arsenal. Arsenal had a good start last season and that carried right through until they had injuries,” he said.
“It’s been understated what Arsenal did last season because they got injuries at a bad time. In February they lost most of their midfield.
“Who is to say it wouldn’t have been closer if Arsene had kept his players fit?”

So the fact his club are nearly £1billion in debt and currently cannot afford the yearly interest payments let alone make an impact on the debt, means we’re struggling??? What an utter mug, just because his board let him spend with impunity they don;t care, the debt mounts up against Man Utd plc not them, when they are ready to sell, it will be for a profit and then whomever buys the club will take on that humungous debt and then proceed to asset strip the place down to the last tea cup, then Manu Utd will struggle to hold onto the coat hooks let alone players!!!!!! It’s all in thier yearly financial reports. Fergie did, in hi defence say that we achieved something excellent last season and without losing 5 key players to injury in the space of 4 games we wouldn’t of finished 4 points of the lead, possibly could of won the EPL!

No snide comment there. Ferguson has simply stated a fact, based on Wenger’s own recent comments.
In fact it was rather a glowing report on Arsenal from Ferguson. It’s quite nice to read stuff like that and I agree with his comment about how our achievement last season was understated.
I can point at 20,000 fickle season ticket holders at the Emirates last season who mutinied at the merest hint of trouble last season who are a far bigger issue that Alex Ferguson mitigating our current problems with information Wenger himself confirmed and then stating how well we did last season considering most people wrote us off and out of the top four.

Yeah Fergie says wonder how close it could’ve been had we not had injuries… well we would’ve won had it not been for a (perfectly good) disallowed goal at Middlesbrough and a dodgy penalty at Brum!!!
