Smoking at Phillips Stadium banned by PSV | Other Dutch clubs encouraged to follow suit

PSV Eindhoven have banned smoking at the Phillips Stadium and have urged other fellow Eredivisie clubs to follow the same. By Dutch law, smoking has to be banned when the club has a roof, which therefore has lead to bans at Ajax’s Amsterdam Arena and Vitesse’s Gelredome. However enforcement is lax, to put it mildly. The Phillips Stadium is the first major open roof stadium in the Netherlands to ban it.

PSV lead the league table by five points from Ajax at the time of writing this article (46 points to Ajax’s 41 from 18 games)
