They can be overtaken by second place FC Erzegebirge Aue, but third placed Wurzburger Kickers are fourteen points behind, and with four games only left, Dresden are now guaranteed one of the two automatic promotion spots.

Dresden drew 2-2 with Magdeburg in their weekend game, while Osnabruck, who were third before this round of fixtures began, could only manage a 1-1 scoreline against Mainz’s second team, meaning they dropped to fifth in the league standings.
