West Bromwich Albion have made an enquiry to West Ham about their talented young midfielder Jack Collison. The Baggies see a perfect opportunity to snap up the 22 year old Collison, one of Wales’ rising stars, given that West Ham are trying to trim their wage bill following their relegation to the Championship.

Hammers chairman David Gold recently said that Collison was one of the few players not for sale but his resolve could be tested if the Baggies return with a tempting offer for the midfielder.

West Brom have also confirmed that they will not be making out of contract defender Jonathan Woodgate an offer to join the club.

Collison is currently contracted to WHUFC till 2013.
