Sampdoria’s Reto Ziegler signs for Juventus on free

Sampdoria star Reto Ziegler has agreed to join Juventus on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with the Blucerchiati. Ziegler has signed a deal that will keep him at Juventus till 2015 and becomes the Bianconeri’s second signing of the 2011 summer window after Andrea Pirlo.

Swiss full back Ziegler started his career with Grasshopper in his native country and played for Tottenham Hotspur, Wigan Athletic and Hamburg before joining Sampdoria in 2007.

This is what Ziegler had to say regarding his switch to Juventus.

I am very happy with this transfer. This is a big step forward for me and I am honoured to have joined Juventus. I get the chance to play with great champions here and I am looking forward to proving my worth.
